I took my LB1714 to the deal for service. It was smoking pretty good and burning oil. The dealer said it was probaly my rings (he said there wes dirt in the intake, and it probably got into the engine). I don't disagree that my rings are worn and that's why its smoking, but he said it would cost $2600 (for new engine) and $1400 laber.
I ask if there is a rebuild, or if he could replace the ring and re-bore the pistons (if needed), and he said no.
I guess I'm just looking for advise, but I have a person who is capable of re-building the engine, he is just concerned about parts. If anyone has a parts list for the engine, I would appreciate and assistance.

Is that a Chinese Kioti? You could buy an entire equivalent replacement for way under the quote. Did you check the Chinese tractor newsgroup? Meanwhile, you could keep using it for a fair bit with 50-wt oil. ....

auerbach,
thanks. I was planning on doing just that, until I could find the parts to replace the rings and bore the cylinders if needed. I told the guy at the dealer he was nuts. Actual the KIOTI is a South Koera, pretty much like the Kobota tractor. ....

OK, now I know who they are. They're selling new tractors in the US, so just contact them. And they don't always use their own engines, for instance, for their 80-HP-range they use a US engine (Perkins), so you might get lucky. ....
